at the heart of the Boyne Valley fisheries and the county has an
abundance of attractive golf courses designed to challenge the
most determined golfer. Indeed, whatever your interest, be it
horse racing, shooting, swimming or pitch & putt, you'll be spoilt
for choice during your stay at Kiltale Holiday Homes.
Golf
For the golfer, the area boasts a number of excellent courses with
no less than six within 15 minutes drive of the premises. Pride of
place goes to the newly
opened Knightsbrook Golf Course, designed by Christy O'Connor jr,
which
is just a short drive away.
A challenging
creative course, you will enjoy views over undulating fairways and
testing greens and be intrigued by demanding water features. This
par 72 parkland course has a maximum length of 7200 yards. A
magnificent spacious clubhouse with luxury locker rooms and a
superb golf shop will complete the offering.

Horse Racing &
Equestrian Sports
For lovers of equestrian sports, the Boyne Valley and
surrounding area is a haven with racecourses at Navan, Bellewstown,
Dundalk and the famous strand races held once yearly at Laytown,
the last of it's kind in the British Isles. However, the leading
racecourse in the area is Fairyhouse, hosting an average of 16
race meetings per annum, the feature being the Jameson Irish Grand
National held during the three-day Easter Festival. The area also
boasts a wealth of Equestrian centres such as Rathe House and
Borallion centres, both with all-weather arena and qualified
instructors.

Fishing
Kiltale
Holiday Homes are located at the heart of the Boyne
Valley fisheries. The area has superb game, coarse and sea angling
alike and will satisfy anglers of all levels with it's great
diversity of waters. Here at Kiltale House & Cottage, we make
special provisions for fishing enthusiasts with a purpose built
angling/tackle house built close to the house while Hire of
Fishing Rods, packed lunches, permits, river and lake maps and a
guide can all be arranged.

Book Of Kells
Is the
most decorated illuminated manuscript to survive from early
medieval period in Europe. Created by the Columban Monks on the
remote Island of Iona. The original can be seen in Trinity College
Dublin.
